Ruti is an experienced Registered Social Worker with over 15 years’ experience working in mental health. As a queer immigrant parent, Ruti is passionate about supporting people whose life journeys include trauma, loss, anxiety, depression and stress, immigration, relocation, sexual orientation and gender identity. Ruti provides therapy in-person and online, and she is fully fluent in English or Hebrew,
Ruti started her career in mental health as an expressive arts therapist (M.A.), and she worked for many years as a social worker with families, parents, young adults, youth and children in community mental health agencies. Ruti brings an integrative and creative lens to her work, using psychodynamic therapy and Internal Family Systems (IFS, also known as parts work) to allow for gentle processing and healing of traumatic memories, while also drawing upon therapies such as Solution-Focused (SFT) and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) to build on your strengths and develop practical tools in your toolkit to manage day to day challenges.
In working together, Ruti will honour and make space for the many intersecting identities, such as culture, gender, race, sexual oriendtation/gender identity, abilities and other aspects of identity, that play a role in your life. Ruti fosters safety, connection and trust, and creates a courageous space where you can bring your whole self to therapy. Together you can explore how your past and inner parts, are influencing and shaping who you are today. In working with Ruti, you can imagine discovering and strengthening the healing power within your Self, and moving with confidence towards the person you wish to be, and the life you want to live.
